Hemostatic agents help coagulate blood when you are having trouble controlling bleeding using traditional methods. Usually in military settings, you will find this agent in bulk in a powder form which can poured onto arterial bleeds or large surface-area accidents. The agent can also be found embedded into gauze bandages which can be placed on the area of concern to stop the bleeding.
